CURRENT NEWS AT LAKEWOOD
The “L” word is now becoming the “C” word

$58.08 per lot, per year. Just .16 cents a day for us to say we own lakefront property. When you break it down this way it really is a small price to pay. We bought our little cabin in 2004 when the yearly dues were a mere $44 per...
JUST LIKE THE SIGNS READ, NO DOGS ALLOWED

Just a reminder to all dog owners and their guests…dogs, no matter what the size or temperament is, are never allowed anywhere at our lakefront area…this includes the beach and the park/pavilion areas. While many of us are dog owners and/or dog lovers, this ruling has been put into...

Image BEAUTIFUL DAY, GOOD FOOD, FUN PEOPLE MAKE FOR FANTASTIC PICNIC!!!
For the 4th year in a row Mother Nature cooperated with our annual Summer picnic plans! A mix of sun and clouds paired with a light westerly breeze made for perfect picnic weather. This years event kicked off at noon on Saturday July 1st. The venue, being freshly painted and cleaned up added to the excitement of everything else going on that day. We ended up with 100 attendees….26 less than what RSVP’d. I (Kelly) fired up the grills and cooked off the 1/4 lb. burgers and jumbo hot dogs while Secretary Maureen, VP Steve, Director Jim, Tom Conway, Wayne Tio and Bob and Judy Ebel helped set up tables and the service area as well as water balloons. Maureen then continued by checking people in and getting them fitted with wrist bands, as Director Betty sold raffle tickets and Steve hit people up for a chance at the 50/50 raffle. We had a phenomenal array of side dishes that filled 4 banquet tables along with another banquet table filled with desserts! The day continued on with the annual Bags Tournament and raffling off the 50+ prizes graciously donated by Judy Geiger, Carin Tio, Kathleen Pugh and Amy Landis…..thanks to all of you for helping make the day FUN!!! Amy donated the grand prize, a one night stay at the Brookfield Sheraton. Carin Tio had the winning ticket for that. It was nice to have some of our newest owners, the Ring’s, the Kierzek’s, the Stormoen’s and the Zahasky’s join us and all left prize winners! When all was said and done we raked in $619.00! The 50/50 itself brought in $200.00 and Chad Landis was the lucky winner going home with a hundred bucks in his pocket! After a fun afternoon, great conversations and lots of laughs we ended the day with the water balloon toss and while Maureen and I got knocked out in round 1, The Gremer boys were the last standing. A huge shout out to all who helped clean up after the picnic too! Everyone’s help was so appreciated!
We are already planning our next event, so mark your calendars for the EVENING of Saturday September 2nd….stay tuned for more details!
